Privacy Policy
It usually starts on an ordinary evening, when you open Castle to find a film in your own language and the app simply lets you straight in, with nothing to fill in first. That single moment tells you most of what this policy has to say about your data. The rest is set out below, in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India, and it holds for everyone who uses the app.
An app that lets you stay unknown
There is no sign-up in Castle, and there never has been. No email, no phone number, no profile forming in the background while a film loads. You watch as an anonymous guest, every single time. The benefit is plain: because Castle never learns who you are, there is nothing about you it could ever leak, sell, or surrender, and your data cannot be exposed in a breach that never had your identity to begin with.
The few things the app reads
So a stream runs cleanly on whatever you are holding, Castle reads a short list of technical facts about your device: its model, the memory it has free, the Android version, and your chosen language. From those, the player reads your connection and settles on a quality your hardware can sustain. Your history, your subtitles, and your downloads stay in the device's own storage and go no further, because there is no account waiting on our side to receive them.
The information we leave alone
Some things sit permanently outside what the app can reach. Castle never asks for your Aadhaar, your PAN, or any government identifier. It has no way into your banking apps, your UPI wallets, or your card details, and it cannot open your camera, microphone, messages, contacts, fingerprint, or photos. Should anything using the Castle name ask you for these, it is a counterfeit; remove it, and report it to us through the contact centre on our official website.
How the free app is funded
Castle asks nothing of your wallet, and advertising is what makes that work. The banners come from trusted networks, chiefly Google AdMob, which use the standard Android Advertising ID so the same ad does not follow you round in circles. That identifier is anonymous, carrying no name, address, or number tied to you, and each network describes its handling in its own privacy policy. You are free to reset it, or switch it off entirely, in your Android privacy settings whenever you wish.
Clearing your data
The DPDP Act gives you the right to erase your data, and Castle keeps that entirely in your hands, since everything lives on your device. Clear Data or Clear Cache in your Android settings wipes your history and preferences on the spot, and uninstalling removes whatever remains. No request to us, no waiting period. If a question about your data survives all that, the contact centre on our official website is there for you.
Reaching our Grievance Officer
As India's IT Rules require, a Grievance Officer stands ready to handle privacy concerns, including any that touch our advertising partners. A message sent through the contact centre on our official website reaches the officer directly and is resolved within the timelines the law lays down. Whenever this policy changes, the fresh version appears on that same site first, so it repays an occasional look.
